Kristen Hoagland
Kristen Hoagland is a dancer, actor, singer, choreographer, and teacher. She has studied under the direction of Isobel Johnson, Kimberly Johnson Spolitino, and Sandra Moore for ten years at Stewart Johnson Dance Academy. Kristen has been the honored recipient of performance awards and scholarships from numerous competitions and conventions such as Dance Master of America, West Coast Dance Explosion, NYCDA, Legacy, Showstoppers, Onstage NY, and Starpower. She graduated from Nottingham in 2009. While at Nottingham she participated in Drill Team , Dance Team, Select choir, DECA, Peer Leadership, as well as acting as Class President Freshman, Junior, and Senior year.
Kristen is currently represented by MSA NY and has recently returned from touring the United States and Canada with West Side Story under the direction of David Saint. She played the parts of Mugsy, Onstage Swing, and u/s Anybody's. Kristen has also had the pleasure of acting as the Assistant Choreographer to Jason Sparks in the production of Propaganda! The Musical which was showcased at NYMF this past summer and received an Excellence in Choreography award! She has also performed on "America's Got Talent", "The Rachel Ray Show", " The Next Big Thing NY", Joe Lanteri's "Bright Lights and Shining Stars" showcase in NYC, and at Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City. She has danced in music videos for "Wonka Pop Star" and artist Rachel Lorin Flisoof. Kristen has also performed at the APAP Showcase at Peridance with Michael Susten's company. She has had the pleasure of working directly with choreographers AC Ciulla, as his assistant on numerous projects, Luis Salgado, Dwight Rhoden, Desmond Richardson, Ivan Koumaev, Jason Sparks, David Gamboa, Jeffrey Lapes, Brooke Wendle, RJ Durrell, Jihan Amoroli, and Michael Susten just to name a few. Along with dancing herself she is also a very passionate teacher. Kristen teaches ballet, lyrical, hiphop, contemporary, and jazz. Her classes offer a safe environment for dancers to explore their own abilities as well as learn from others. She prides herself in keeping a positive attitude and pushing students harder then they thought possible. Her students have been the recipients of numerous awards at regional and national competitions. Kristen will be performing at the Goodspeed Theater in Connecticut next month in the production of The Circus in Winter, where she will be playing the part of Young Jennie. |
